Over the 4th, we headed to Wilmington to visit with our dear old UT friend Larry and his lovely wife Keri. Our boys have never been to the beach. Let's just say that it was a big hit! We especially enjoyed the Wray's southern hospitality while we explored Bald Head Island and Wrightsville Beach.
The boys and Kerry/Em climbed up "old baldie" lighthouse while Larry and I found coffee for my morning addiction. The ferry rides and golf cart riding were super fun. I am scheming different ways to get rich enough to go back for a stay. The island was a pretty neat place with no cars and lots of beautiful beach houses to gawk at around every sand dune or alley (especially while our pokey golf cart got dropped as it ran out of juice).
And it was extra nice that the kids all got along great! As Keri and I said, you prepare for the worst and hope for the best. It was thankfully a very easy relationship for Em, C, Harper and Owen. Our boys even learned to love the dog (not pictured - sorry).
I think that we have beach plans to Topsail Island in early fall unless we make our way back to Wilmington sooner. Owen does ask/demand every few days - "Can we go to the beach, PLEASE!?"

You and Bill should go to Bald Head solo and stay at the Marsh Harbour Inn. Ryan and I went for our anniversary last year and it was FAB!
