Visit from Grandma

Grandma just left the other day from a week or so of Carter Camp. She hasn't seen the little fella since February, so she wanted to spend some QT with her favorite redheaded grandson (& us) in Texas. Her visit couldn't have come a better time b/c C decided the best way to celebrate her arrival was to get a nice summer cold.

So Grandma kept him home from school a few days as we were hoping he'd recover to his usual not super snotty self (unfortunately, he ended up with another double ear infection). If taking care of C wasn't enough, she decided to put herself through a mini-work camp at the Schwangstons. Two days into the visit we tore down the wallpaper in the guest bathroom. It was much easier than expected, thanks to the spatula scraper suggestion via "the Dr.s" and Mom's weathly wallpaper removal history. No decision on the paint selection yet - maybe we'll just leave it looking like Baghdad in there to keep it street.

Mom also worked tirelessly to rehabilitate a quilt that K10 made me for my 21st birthday. This quilt was a mainstay through college and was showing its years (11 years actually- wow that kinda stings that I'm that old). She started to just repair a few tired old squares, but ended up putting a new back sheet and filler in it as well. Erin has tested the finished product, and it naps very well.

We did let her out some (although it was super hot, and she really enjoyed the steady AC). She made it to visit Aunt Anne, to IKEA and a trip to the FTW Z00 with E and C. It was great to have an extra hand around, and if you come to visit, we'll promise to take it easier on you.

Thanks for reading...
