It was a very white Christmas indeed. Well, more icy and cold than fluffy on the 25th. We made it safely through the snowy slush to and from our church service in Fort Worth on Christmas Eve. C was pretty good during the service, watching all the kids in the nativity play and enjoying the music. The 3 wise men were a bit more western than normal. In true Texan fashion, the boys wore cowboy hats and boots as they trekked to the manger.
C certainly got the hang of presents and unwrapping them this holiday. While driving, we casually mentioned opening gifts after church, so C helped himself. He started opening one on his own while mommy and daddy wiped off snow/ice from boots and the car after the service. That boy has a memory like an elephant.
Speaking of presents, Carter got a cool new wooden train set from Santa (or Snowman as C calls him) in a cedar box that daddy (with the little helper) built. It has CARTER cars along with a dinosaur and his favorite public safety vehicles.
As a two+ year old, puzzles, books, and wooden cars complete the dream Christmas haul. Thanks to our family for helping fulfill his wishes.
We started our Nashville trek 6am early on Saturday. Our little fella was an angel in the 11 hour car ride, even with just a 45 min nap for the entire day. We didn't even break out the new DVD player until the last hour. Thank you to stickers!
Grandma's house is full of new treats - toys from Bill's childhood (literally), a kitty cat named Pepper, a kiddie kitchen chair the perfect height for helping, and stairs!
Our Langston Christmas brought C a few more favorites...a home-made tent from K10 & Ryan and the Fisher Price farm with animals from Grandma. Note the tent was borrowed by Uncle Ryan for a house-warming nap.
Readers, thanks for your support as the Schwangston bowl winner prediction. Unfortunately, Bill is up 2 so far. Never fear, many more points to be awarded until Bama takes TX in the National Championship, right? SEC needs to win because I have been a trash-talking Big 12 fan at work the past couple of days...
Happy holidays - stay warm! Erin
