Here comes trouble...

This time last week, Carter and I were flying solo for a few short hours. Dad took off Wed. morning and Bill was getting home later Wed night.

After a long day at work, I picked up C from school and headed home. I was beat and wanted nothing more than a good 10-15 min of rest before tackling Carter duty. Luckily, C was content to play solo in his room before dinner, so I laid down on the couch to catch my breath. I realized soon that C was a little too quiet. I heaved myself off the couch and rounded the corner to see him coming quietly out of the bathroom. I followed C into his room and asked what he was doing. He replied, "oh, eating my treats," as I noticed his chocolate mustache. Apparently C had been helping himself to the potty reward stash of M&Ms in the bathroom. Not the dinner that I had in mind.
Carter's bedtime routine includes lots of book reading. This tired, very prego mommy got into his bed and read books, while C snuggled in so nicely. He even brushed my face gently and said "night night, Mommy." Yes, I was tired, but not tired enough to miss that my lil schemer was putting Mommy to bed. In one fell swoop, he scooted off the bed, opened the door, closed it, and left the room. I barely had time to pick my jaw up off the floor before he opened the door again to make sure that I knew it was Mommy's "night night" time and to go to bed. Right.

Gotta give it to the kid. He's been paying attention and seems to know how to get what he wants.

Ordered a little something for 2.0 but I've been told it's going to take 2 to 3 weeks to get it. So, might be a little late getting it to you. Better lat than never, right?

Either Meg did not catch the April fool, or she knows something I don't know? ;)
