When I woke up from my nap yesterday afternoon, I realized it was really quite warm. In checking the thermostat, the gauge rose another degree before my own eyes...up to 80 INSIDE my house at 3:32 pm. The heat not only woke me up a bit earlier than I had hoped (I needed a good nap after only 3 hours of sleep the night before), but a slightly cranky Carter followed shortly there after.
Thank goodness sister Amy lives around the corner, since the AC repair guy cannot come until 8am today. Fresh off a weekend in Austin, with a show-ready house on the market and painter coming at 7:30am today, she and Mark did not even blink when agreeing to host Schwangston clan. We are even sleeping in their master bedroom, with C on a floor mattress and O in a pack and play. I just got the giggles because all 3 boys were "talking" in their sleep within 5 min of each other (ok, so O's was the baby grunting noises post feeding, but in sync after his bro and dad). C's chatter was discernible and related to repeat requests for needing a "towel please" - dreaming of either a cloth napkin to clean hands or needing toilet paper after using the potty - random but good that he uses his manners in dream world too.
Anyway, let's hope that this is just a one night stay at the Casa de Collums - that the AC guy can fix it with no problems. Unlike this blogger, who had to order a new motor and was w/o AC in half her house for several days (and no, we only have one unit for our one story lil house).
When Bill ran by the house last night at 7:30 to grab a few forgotten items, it was 89 degrees and the garage was actually cooler...too bad the highs this week are in the 100s!
Send us good AC vibes, please...Erin
PS - when I googled hot temp from Google images, this pic sums up how I felt before we escaped the house...image here.

yikes, stay cool!!!
No AC during late June in Texas defines misery. Good luck getting that fixed quickly!
