Carter = 5!

I could say all the cliches:  I remember when he was just a little baby, he's grown up so fast, etc.  But it hasn't been so fast and does feel like five years.  A great five years.  Seeing Carter James go from a baby, to a toddler, now a big kid has been such a great experience for us.  We say this so frequently, but he is a great kid and we've loved the last 1,827 days with him.

Carter is getting the Schwie treatment this week and started celebrating his birthday today.  He will get to ride the birthday wave with more gifts and festivities (full on party w/friends this coming weekend).  He made a big splash today with two meals on the "I'm special plate", cupcakes at his school, presents at the house, Facetime with family across the country, and special birthday sundaes to top it off.  Not bad for five years...
