Pregnancy ramblings

Hi friends. I decided to do some prego updates for everyone.

  • I am feeling okay these days - a bit more tired than I've been the past few weeks. My working out has decreased a bit, not as much swimming or walking as I'd like, but hopefully I will get more energy and pick it back up.

  • The baby is moving a bunch now and is getting big enough to fight back (aka, not move) when I try to rearrange him to a more comfortable/less painful position. Or, he may just be stubborn like his parents and decides to not move just to spite me.

  • The baby is still nameless. We are slowly whittling the names down (about 10). Yes, it's driving me crazy.

  • No dramatic cravings for me - I like baked potatoes, milk, peanut butter, and of course, chocolate/sweets.

  • Prego woman often lose their brains - I have temporarily lost my cell phone (it's powered off) inside my house. So, if I don't call you back, it's not personal. Call me at the house or on Bill's cell.

  • The nursery is far from finished - crib is up and just got the fabric that I ordered. One project was to redo the fabric on my great-grandmother Phillips rocking chair. My good friend here Heather did 90% of the work and deserves mad props. I will try to post some pics of the nursery this weekend.

  • Bill and I have almost picked a day care - there are actually 3 close to home that offer part time day care! I have negotiated returning to work at the City part time after the baby and think that it should work out great for everyone.

  • We've also decided to use a cloth diaper service. Bill actually suggested it and we are going to give it a try. It's new to DFW, http://www.breesbums.com, and will have a route near us by Oct.

  • About the ultrasound pics - they don't scan that great, but I wanted to include them from my visit 7/12. The top pic just makes me laugh - the baby's legs are stretched straight out (toes on the left)! So much for being in the fetal position (maybe that's why my lower right tummy aches). The bottom pic is a profile/side view of the baby (head is on the left).

  • Last but not least, Bill and I have planned our last baby free vacation (or babymoon) to Seattle/Vancouver for late August. I didn't want a beach or something warmer than TX, and we haven't really spent time in the NW. We'll get to see our good friend Becky too. If you have any sight seeing suggestions, feel free to share.

    That's all for now...Erin

Awesome update. Glad to hear everyone is healthy and on track. We did the cloth diaper service with Pace and had no issues. Very environmentally friendly and better for the skin.
