Here is our first family picture - it's kind of hard getting 2 adults and 1 baby to focus on the camera - this was the closest we could get to having Carter looking at the camera. Carter's little man outfit was courtesy of Ben and Becky in Michigan - he looked so cute in his cords and button down - I actually ironed the shirt. Somewhat surprising, no turkey-themed clothing for him this holiday, but I think the 3 outfits at Halloween balance it out.
The whole Schwie family is in town, and we had a great feast yesterday at Amy's house. Bill cooked his fanny off (with some prep help from Lisa) - smoked an 18 lb turkey and baked salmon for me since I still do not eat meat or poultry, and he made a few more items - apple cobbler, vegetable jalousie (fancy recipe from a Vegetarian cookbook K10 gave to me, ha ha, for a wedding shower gift), roasted potatoes, cornbread stuffing, and ice cream pumpkin pie to take to Amy's. Lisa also made the feta cheese/green bean recipe that K10's neighbor Amanda posted on the blog - it was delicious and you can get it in the comm
Carter also met the rest of the Schwie clan - Aunt Katie and Uncle Dan from FL and the Hedgepeth posse from Houston - Aunt Sara, Uncle Jason, and their 2 boys, Tyler and Jake. Pictured here are two of my sisters, Sara and Katie. We've doubled the kids since last year - with 4 boys under 4 years, it's pretty wild already. I can hardly imagine what the family gatherings will look like in a few years when the current 6 weeks, 8 months, 14 months, and almost 4 years old boys can all talk, scream, run, walk, play and rough house - it's going to be quite the noisy get together. We are taking some more pics of everyone today. I imagine 14 people focusing on the camera will be even harder than us 3 - hopefully, one of the takes will turn out okay...
Happy thanksgiving again...we give thanks for our baby Carter, family, friends, and many blessings...Erin
