Carter isn't crawling yet. He is aflutter with moves: he pushes, wobbles, reaches, tumbles, rolls, inches backward, and stretches, but still no actual crawl. He is quite mobile, despite lacking this specific skill. Like the ocean, you can't turn your back on him for a second.
He is much more mobile when he doesn't think he's being watched (don't ask how I know this, I just do). Is he trying to play a baby version of hide-and-go-seek? I've started hiding like Wile E. Coyote behind furniture and doors. I jump out, snapping pictures like the paparazzi does of Britney's latest public train wreck; meanwhile, lil' C is looking quite perplexed at this game Daddy is playing.
Erin has told me this is like a yoga pose ("Downward Dog"), but I prefer to call it "the Bear". It looks like he wants to just stand up and walk, which would eliminate the crawling fun, and put us tragically behind in the childproofing department.

So cute! Love the yoga pose. He's going to have you all running after him soon! When are you going to teach him to ride a bike?
The crawl is just around the corner .... any day now!
That Carter is very advanced- no wonder he is being stalked by his paparazi parents!
