Carter and I had a great time at the park today, enjoying the nice weather before it gets too hot. His second time in the swings went much better - as you can tell by the big smile in the pictures. Carter is like his mommy, in that he enjoys people-watching too (pictured on the right). It's almost as much fun as swinging! His teething is still pretty hard core - as you can see by the slobber; I decided not to capture the Kodak moment when he tried to chew on the nice, clean swing chains and rubber seat. We decided it was time to leave when the redneck mom pushing her little girl on the nearby big-kid-swings started to smoke, seriously.
After all of the swinging, strolling, and watching big kids, Carter was
pretty worn out and made himself VERY comfortable on the way home. It was his first walk in the stroller without the infant carrier. Looks like he has no problem adapting to riding in the stroller like a big boy.
We live close enough to walk to 2 parks - the closest is smaller, but it has a small trail, nice playground, and hard-to-find baby swings. The other park is a bit further and much bigger, with a 7 mile trail for Bill to ride laps on his bike or a long walk/run for me (but not all 7 miles!). Bill hosed off the jogging stroller today because Carter is finally getting old/big enough to go to the big park with me for a longer jog/run/walk.
