My favorite holiday is coming up, Thanksgiving! I give thanks for its low corporate marketing plan, no gift, or candy buying, just a great carbohydrate buffet, and a solid afternoon of football watching. Why we can't thank the Indians & Pilgrims more than once a year is a mystery to me.However, my real reason for blogging is a call to arms, well recipes. I appreciate the green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and other traditional fare, but would really like to know if you have any variations or different side dishes (Thanksgiving or not) that are money, and you'd like to share with Schwangstons. Last year, we got a great suggestion from Amanda C .,and it was a big hit. You the reader are now responsible for bringing our holiday meal to the next level. Don't make C's first Thanksgiving that he can actually eat lame.
- If you don't have the recipe, just the name of the dish is a start.
- If you don't want to share your recipe in the comments, just email us.
- If you don't want to share, you are a mean person & should be ashamed because you are betraying the Pilgrim & Indian's spirit of the holiday. No one likes a stingy turkey.
Thanks for reading...

Bill - did you draw the turkey? As for menus ... that vegetable "fancy named thing" you made last year was great! is it on the menu again?
KT- Are you doubting my crayola skills? All the schwangston blog material is original baby. We keep it local.
The veggie jalousie could be in the mix it depends on what the peeps contribute.
No recipes to contribute but if you like the Girl Scouts Thin Mints you should buy some Oreo Peppermint cookies. They're only available for a limited time as a seasonal promotion. Seriously, they're good.
Bill - I'm not doubting the skills but if you really did draw it you should sign your masterpiece for all to see.
Good luck w/turkey day. We are on the list to bring "appetizers" to our Florida festivities. No idea what we will prepare. Will think about it once we return from the islands :)
Last year Virginia thought that an apple and butternut squash casserole was delicious. I think it involved cinnamon. Everything else, including her great grandmother's famous sweet potato casserole, she deemed unworthy.
not terribly unique but damn tasty. i do it without the pecans.
