State of Football

For all the things we don't like about Texas, we do enjoy the excitement this state has for High School Football. We've been trying to get C to a game, but because Friday night kickoffs are at 7:30 (prime bedtime hour), we haven't been able to make it out this season.

Now the season is over and playoff football is here. As the mantra goes, this is also "bigger in Texas". DFW games are at Texas Stadium (where the Cowboys play) - which has got to be the coolest place in the entire state for any Texas HS football player to suit up. The afternoon kickoff meant that we finally got a chance for C to experience football live and in style.

C was into it: the huge stadium , ~10,000+ crazies to watch, bands playing, and who doesn't love the drill team? If we could only get him to sit this still in church or on a plane. We're still working on why play-action passing only works when you have a solid running game, but we still have time for that.

Thanks for reading...
