My sister Katie recently sent me an email asking for help. I then sent it onto some of my peeps. Thank you to those who let me know that they already took action (Jess, MJFW, Mandy, Heather D). One said to me "I just wanted to let you know that for the first time in my life (other than for a project for my classroom) I wrote to my U.S. Representative". My email said something similiar to this:
...funding pancreatic cancer is very important to me and my family since mom died of it in 1987. My dear cousin Maryanne lost her fight against it too, and her family in FL has joined the cause (especially Heidi with PanCan). I took action on it and hope you will too.
We need your help to build support among Members of Congress for the first ever substantive pancreatic cancer legislation in history. The Pancreatic Cancer Research and Education Act (HR 745) was re-introduced on January 28 by Reps. Eshoo (D-CA) and Brown-Waite (R-FL).
Please help us by writing to your U.S. Representative TODAY to encourage them to co-sponsor the Pancreatic Cancer Research and Education Act and make pancreatic cancer a national priority!
Please note the Pancreatic Cancer Research and Education Act is the exact same bill introduced in 2008 as HR 7045, the National Plan to Advance Pancreatic Cancer Research Act. It simply has a new name and bill number now that the 111th Congress has convened. We need your help to see it passed in this Congress, so write to your U.S. Representative today!

THANK YOU for you support, Erin...(and I give you thanks from my sisters, dad, Heidi, Robbie, Bob, Aunt Rita, and all of who have lost a loved one to deadly pancreatic cancer...)

E - thanks for posting this and for the call to action. I'm hopeful that we will do something about this horrible disease during my lifetime

Thanks for posting. I would not have known about the bill or what I could do to help, but was happy to do it! I am guessing my representative may be the same as Katie's.
