Playground Poachers...

The rain stayed away, so C and I made some outside plans for today. Saturday was big for two reasons.

#1 - Carter finally fit into his Vans from K10 for the first time. This raises his street cred way up. At 17 months, he's already cooler than Pops.

#2 - I might have been an accessory to potential "toddler trespassing" by assisting C in Playground Poaching.

We normally hit our local public park playground. It is okay. It has three slides, a swinging bridge, monkey bars, and located right across the street. It is the "vanilla ice cream" of playgrounds. Still satisfying, but there is a "private Montessori" playground near Super Target that is the "Double Chocolate PB Moose Tracks w/a fudge swirl" of playgrounds. Erin & I have spotted this toddler oasis when we are out running errands, but have never tested its weekend availability. It doesn't seem right that a place this sweet is deserted on a nice day. However, they have these serious 8' fences that don't really say "try one of our 12 slides while we are away please?"

After a swift trip to Target and Lowe's, we had about 1hr to kill before lunch. I thought we'd check it out. Several locked gates and aforementioned fences, but right up front, there it was. Open gate...we are in business. I opened the gate, and C quickly bucked out of my arms and took off immediately. I figure no one should question why we are there. It is a playground, Carter is a kid. If I was 15 and with some of my skater friends, we might have been in trouble, but C was working that place like he owned it.

There are about 5 of these crazy structures, and it makes Obama's swing set look like a #16 seed. Carter spent the next 50 minutes in playground utopia. Playing in a ship, a huge clubhouse, a train, and lots of slides. I had to drive with the windows down home just to keep him from passing out b/f lunch.

Not sure what we can do the rest of the weekend to top this, but we'll see if we can come up with something...

Thanks for reading...

Carter looks great in his new Vans, and seems to be having a great time at the "Private park" what they don't know can't hurt them ;)

Great pics of Carter's run through the fancy play area.
