Low Tech Fun

Yesterday we got a box for a bag of 50 balls (like they had at Chuck E. Cheese before we decided to disinfect the world of germs & fun) for inside entertainment. I bought these several months ago when Mrs. Schwangston was away for the weekend & the boys were unsupervised at Target. As you can see Carter is a fan, and who can blame him? If I could find a big enough box, I'd definitely call "next".

The Schwangstons try to keep it basic in the toy world while C is still a little fella. We've decided go more with the stuff that Santa's elves could build in the workshop vs. the stuff that requires crazy instructions to assemble, 4-AA batteries & lights up like the Vegas Strip. Please understand that those toys are great for some, but just not our preference. We're more Nintendo (remember Super Mario?) people than Wii .

We figure that Mommy & Daddy made it on Tonka trucks & Legos. We're a bit weary of the fully interactive toys that are in the Playstation 4 world. One day, I know that he'll want the Millenium Falcon, He-Man Castle of Greyskull equivalent to his era or maybe a Speak and Spell, but until that day comes, we're saving batteries the remote...

Thanks for reading...

Ohhhh. Love the ball bucket.

Soon he will hit the really cool building toys (TinkerToys, Lincoln Logs, marble runs, gearation, etc). Those along with puzzles, cars, blanket/sarong tents and hoppy balls are in heavy rotation in our house with both kiddos.

And check out the They Might Be Giants cds for letters and numbers. FUN dancing!
