Sleeping beauties

This shows a part of the typical pre-bed routine for Carter (though we typically don't take pictures of it) from tonight.

Last night, Bill was charged with putting C down to bed. Usually this means a bath, maybe milk/cookies, a few books on the bed and then C hits the sack. After an unusually long and rather quiet bedtime routine, I stuck my head in to check on the boys. This is what I found...

They looked so peaceful and comfortable that I thought about finding room to snuggle. Instead practical mom prevailed so I transferred C over to his crib and pulled a groggy Bill from the nursery.

Sweet dreams to all! Erin

There are two sides to this story, so here's mine (Bill). After reading 4 or 5 books, I told C "time for bed" instead of asking for more books, he rolled over and I thought about...

-All the times I chase him around the house with sore legs
-Being soaked from washing an unwilling bathing companion
-Running half way down the aisle in church to stop him from interrupting the Eucharist
-All the kicks, and knees, I take to the head in toddler wrangling
-The times that I make a new dish for dinner, and instead of eating it, he'd throw it on the floor.

I thought about all these things, and I decided maybe we should just rest for a while...and I'd do it all again.

Thanks for reading...Bill.

That is awesome. Bill, you deserved that baby nap. Like everyone says, he will be big before you know it. Soak it in friend, soak it in.
