Sick days...ick days.

So it's been a little while between posts. Our primary excuse would be that we've been convalescing on the home front. Last Monday, Erin got a call from school that Carter was running a high fever and coughing. A doctor's visit eased our concern about contracting pig viruses, but he was treated for mild pneumonia due to a little "something" in his right lung. Antibiotics and sick fella were in our future for the next several days.

I will go on record, if I haven't already, that sick kids are the worst. They don't want to do much but cry, whine/fuss, and don't eat much, which makes them even more whiny. Pretty much all the bad stuff about kids, with none of the good.

Erin and I split shifts over the next 3.5 days (I was home in the AM, and she'd come back for the PM). We weren't hopelessly behind at work, just on the road to hopelessness.

The pictures you see were some attempts to find happiness amidst the fog of puniness. Some of the highlights were:

Wearing Jammies all day long.

Putting 40+ stickers on the right leg, then taking them off, and putting them on our left while showing off some yoga moves

Watching Sesame Street each morning (I can't believe the same Grown-Ups are on "the Street" - how does Gordon stay young?)

Organizing all of our cups and bowls in semi-circle (odd kid- definitely from his mother's side).

And of course, building and destroying multiple block towers.

Thankfully by Friday, we were back on track and returned to school/work. Mommy and Daddy got semi-caught up, and peace was restored to the universe - Mrs. Schwangston even went to the doc in a daring attempt to get everyone healthy during the Flu/Cold Season.

Let's hope the Schwangstons (and our readers) stay healthy the rest of the way.

Thanks for reading...

Glad to hear everyone is feeling better. Sounds like you all made the best of a tough situation.
