So long, farewell...

As I mentioned earlier, it's the End Of An Era with Dad and Lisa leaving TN for colder climates. Ole 2108 Kimbrough Woods Place has housed Schwie's for a bit over 25 years.
How do you say goodbye to your childhood/some adulthood home? I mean, it's more than just brick and mortar, let alone one of the greatest neighborhoods ever (which has totally skewed our expectations of what "neighborhoods" are truly like outside of the KW bubble).
This goodbye was important enough that each of us 4 Schwie girls found a way to make "one last trip" to Memphis over the past few months. Obviously, the house has been a backdrop of so many memories...
...memories of mom; proms, graduations, & weddings; wonderful neighbors; pets like Frankie & Amber (and poor Bruno); pine needles, cones & so many trees; an illicit party or two, with countless approved slumber parties; the neighborhood pool, potlucks, & holiday luminaries; tears and sometimes sisters' fighting; Go Red Devils, Mustangs, Tigers, Vols!; slugs in the summer; "Merry Christmas" on the fence and trick or treaters galore; azaleas and dogwoods; Ghost in the Graveyard or Kick the Can; laughter; good friends & family...

Schwie, Glad you made it back home one last time. I know it had to be hard. Please wish your dad and Lisa good luck for me in starting their new home together.

Erin- I did the same thing when my parents moved from our childhood home. I flew up from FL so I could take Audrey there one last time, even though she was 4 months old and wouldn't know. I cried when we drove away!! Although it's not the same, I do feel at home in their new place.
