When Santa Comes down the Chimney...

Christmas Morning came with excitement never seen before in Casa de Schwangston.  When C & O went to sleep Christmas Eve with cookies and milk waiting for the big fella, I didn't know what to really expect when the sun came up.
Carter actually slept in (a great present for Mr. & Ms. Schwangston), and we started in full unwrapping mode ~7ish.  Carter checked in the chimney to make sure Santa didn't get stuck and everything came out alright.  He was super excited when he saw the presents and was bouncing/shouting "Look Presents! Santa Came! Look Stockings! Look! Look!".
It seems that the Schwangston boys must have been included on the "good" list or maybe benefited from grading on a curve (I'm kidding - our boys are almost always a perfect example of "good").  Carter was very helpful in shepherding presents to Owen and even helped orient him in how to unwrap them when he needed a head start.  Fire trucks, dump trucks, cars, planes, puzzles, legos, personalized towels, sand toys, boats for the bath, jammies, & drum sticks for our little drummer boys (outside toy) were just some of the goodies.
As we were eating breakfast, Carter noticed a present stuck in the tree outside our window.  He decided maybe "a reindeer kicked it off the sleigh, and it fell off the roof, and on the tree", or " it popped out of Santa's bag when he jumped down our chimney into the air, and landed in the tree".  Both kiddos were excited to see that it was actually left for them, and it completed our present bonanza on a nice high.
It really is something watching Christmas from this end.  This was definitely my favorite Christmas so far, and I'm already looking forward to seeing Owen wake up to it more next year.  I don't know if I enjoyed it as much as our boys did (when I was their age), but I hope so.  I hope all of the Schwangston Blog readers (all 5 of you) enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Season, and hope you have a great 2012.

Thanks for reading...

Am honored to be part of the 5 left reading :-) Glad the boys loved the big man this year! Our kiddos were very into it, too, although Lauren was very concerned about someone breaking in our house through the chimney ...
