For Our Mommy...

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers out there.  When asking Carter what we should do for Ms. Schwangston, this year he had a few suggestions:
Pretty Flowers
Heart Stickers
Balloons
Cupcake
Coffee
a Surprise

We decided to take a few of those tips, but it seemed an extra special surprise was what Carter had in store.  As the Ms. alluded in the previous post, our first date night in 2012 closed with Carter running a fever and awake at 11 pm. Never a good sign.

At 2 am up early to celebrate Mother's Day w/Carter's special "surprise", Ms. Schwangston told me I should go to the guest room to sleep as she was coughing, getting sick, and Carter was asleep at the foot of the bed equally puny.

5am: Ms. Schwangston comes in to wake me up as Carter has thrown up on the floor.  This has been mentioned before, but Ms. Schwangston HATES throw up.  In the sight or smell of it, she nearly loses it herself.  I say this because although our boys haven't had too many puking episodes, the Ms. fields most of them intimately.  So far in 2012, both boys have puked 1x each.  Owen puked ON her, and Carter in her presence.  Only a mother's love can overcome possibly her worst case scenario to help her boys in their hours of need.

5:15am: Owen wakes up, hungry, crabby, and inconsolable.

A.
Mother's.
Day.
To
Remember.

Instead of church, brunch, planting the new plants, bushes, and flowers, and shopping with her girlfriends, we "surprised" Mommy and got to spend it together like sleep deprived zombies eating bread, bananas, and noodles with endlessly sanitizing sheets and blankets as C spread his germs.  Trying to get some sleep, trying to get our boys to sleep. It was epic failure at just about every turn.

We'll have to pick up our Mother's Day plans another time, but I'd like to say thanks to my Mom, and Carter & Owen's for taking care of their boys even on the rough days.

Thanks for reading...

Ouch! What a rough night. Good thing Mother's Day only comes once a year.
