This is why C hasn't gone riding on the trails with me yet. If you look at the pic closely (sorry, it is a cell phone shot while riding), you can see the labrador-sized bobcat ON THE GREENWAY!Before you freak out, know that seeing these "kitties" has become somewhat common. This is as close as I've ever been (notice the shadow in the pic...that goofball on the bike is me). They really aren't interested in people and less interested in guys in spandex on bicycles.
About three years ago, I saw one of these for the first time and freaked out, sprinting by them like a world champion. I came upon a man strolling his 2 year old. With my pulse racing, I warned this man about this "wildcat" on the trail. He calmly raised his shirt to reveal a handgun tucked into his waistline, and said "no problem". I now take pictures of bobcats and sprint past daddies w/strollers.
Thanks for reading...

Only in TX does a man with a 2 year old walk with a gun in his waistband. Well, maybe also in South Central L.A.
Howdy guys - this is Katie and Dan's friend Meredith. Anyways, I check out your blog from time to time and have to say that I really enjoy your posts! :) Anyways, this particular post made me LOL - and really miss home. God Bless TX! :) Take Care - and keep those funny stories coming
Stay away from that huge kitty!!!!
That is hilarious! The man with the baby and gun...not the huge bobcat! Great shot by the way for a camera phone while riding a bike.
Be careful out there Bill. That thing is scary. I never liked cts. As for the dude with the gun, all I can say is ONLY IN TX!

OMG! I was on the phone with Dad and Lisa and they couldn't believe that you were actually that close to take the pic. Keep my lil C away from those trails!!
