Two thumbs up

Over the past 15 months of Carter's life, Bill and I have seen hundreds of hours on TV from the TIVO angels; many movies via DVD, pay per view, and the handy $1.50 DVD stand at our grocery store; and exactly 2 movies together in the theaters.

We saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button when Grandma passed through over the holidays (woo hoo and thanks to Pat). I really enjoyed it - very touching and a few tears from me. Bill thought that it started slow but got better.

The next one was this afternoon. I was off of work for MLK, and C had his 15 month check up this morning (later blog). We took advantage of the weekly tuition that we pay Primrose School and took C to daycare after his appt. for a 1/2 day. Who knew that the matinee cost $7.50 now? Anyway, we saw Slumdog Millionare, and it was EXCELLENT!

If you had to choose between the two, go with the Slumdog Millionaire. We are excited about our 3rd movie viewing maybe in the next week or two. I plan on taking up neighbor Eric on his promise to babysit, so that Bill and I can see Marley and Me. We'll see if his wife Lisa is the one that actual does the work.

Also, working on this with other neighbors who have 2 teenage daughters - real baby-sitters! It was certainly weird to chat about hiring a babysitter instead of being the one hired - just another sign that I am officially old and a mom now.

Night all, Erin

PS. Full disclosure - I saw Sex and the City in theaters with my gal pal Heather L here in DFW.

Wow - I can't remember the last time we went to the movies.

I saw BOLT on the cruise but that doesn't count. Thanks for the review for slumdog millionaire, heard it was great.

I agree with you about Slumdog Millionaire. Brutal, at times, but balanced with humor, hope, triumph, a look into another world, and a touch of morality. Great movie.

The last real movie Ben and I saw in the theater was Star Wars...almost 4 years ago. Since then it's only been Bolt and Madagascar. I've heard Gran Torino is very good.
