Are you ready for some football? (updated)

Bill and I enjoy athletics, as both participants and spectators. The sports world is pretty slow these days. Unless you are an avid baseball fan, watch random sports (soccer, etc. - put them in the comments), or follow the Tour, there is not a whole lot of action until the Olympics (which is mainly random sports these days). I acknowledge that the Tour may fall under "random sports" category for most of you - not in this house or my brother in law Dan's fantasy Tour league (no joke). Le Tour de France is Bill's Super Bowl; I have become a fan over the years too. Full disclosure, it's been hard to pull me in this year, not because of the drama, but competing interests of baby/work/sleep. The Tour is the sole reason that we have DirecTV - Dish didn't carry Versus (formerly known as OLN) which is the only channel in the US that shows the Tour. But, I digress, let me return to the title topic.

After a 2 yr. absence from game day Saturday in Knoxville, Bill and I will be in God's Country for the Third Saturday in October (Editor's note - just realized that this year, the third Sat. in October is actually the Mississippi St game, not Bama. Oops. Not sure how we missed that. At least State is a home game, not Away, since our plane tickets are non-refundable). Anyway, I am so ready for TN football this year. Anxious to see how Fulmer manages his new offensive coordinator, from OUTSIDE OF THE SYSTEM (said in a stage whisper by the good ole boys or in ALL CAPS of JOY by me), what Cutcliffe does with Duke, hoping Spurrier loses a lot. Anxious to see the Vols against their SEC match-ups, whether Fulmer will get fired or not, what happens to that darned BCS, if my SEC is strong enough to shush all of the Big 12 posers out here, watching ESPN GameDay - I am just getting started. Oh, we need 2 tickets for the Mississippi State game. Anyone out there in blog world who can hook a fan up?

Go VOLS! Go Georgie. Erin

Great to see a football post. I can't wait! I'll ask around about tickets but it may be a tough one. Looking forward to seeing y'all in October.

You would never know that its a slow sports world in our house this summer.

European Cup Soccer, the Tour, Olympic trials.

And to top it off, Dan is leading in his Tour fantasy lead. He's a happy camper.

I don't know of any tickets, but we've designated that game as our big tailgate of the season. You'll have to stop by. Details to come.
