The Woodlands (Houston burb, think G'town or B'wood) vs. Kennesaw (of the "A", formerly known as the ATL).

We'll start with the TX leg of the weekend. After work late Thursday, Carter and I headed down to see Sara and fam, Amy and fam, Dad/Lisa, and the Sowells for a quick Independence Day weekend.
Early Friday, we went to a super hot parade

on the of 4th. Jake (and my Dad) had a great time asking for candy and seeing the super heroes on the floats/cars. Carter slept in his stroller and tried not to overheat, though we kept him in the shade when possible.
After cooling down some, we headed over to the Sowells. I met Stephie's man Dallas' family as well and some neighbors before taking a dip in the newly saltwatered pool. It was Carter's first time swimming, ever. Yes, he is little and not at all interested in enjoying it. As a former lifeguard (Bill too) and swim instructor, I just KNOW that he has some fish in him, and I am not disappointed in his lack of interest just yet. Jake and I had fun working on his aquatic tricks and playing in the pool too.
And, of course, it was neat watching Carter

interact with his cousins , aunt/uncles, and grandparents. He missed Aunt KT and Dan a lot. He spend a lot of time studying the moves of Jake, Tyler, and

Matthew - it obviously worked since he seems swifter, higher, stronger
after observing them all (or in the 5 days that Bill was gone).
Bill's update of the second annual boy's weekend will be posted soon, I am sure. Hope you had a good one, remembered to honor our country, and had a happy 4th! Erin
