For my birthday, Erin & C promised a bike trailer so C could hit the roads with Daddy. After months of researching, craigslist watching, and a few narrow misses, we decided to just order one online. We learned a lesson because the hitch system would only fasten to one of my bikes(not good). After I packed that one up and returned it, my prayers to the Madonna del Ghisallo were finally answered - one of my top picks for trailers popped up on craigslist and was still available.
After purchasing it this weekend, it rained for the next few days (figures right?). Anticipating my Wednesday race would be rained out tonight, we sent Mommy off to an exhibit in Dallas while hoping that we could get on the road if it stayed dry.
I decided to hook it up to my single speed (42x16 -pretty tough on hills, but we managed) in case it did rain. The ride was nice - kind of like running with a parachute attached to you. It started to rain halfway through, so I stopped and pulled down the rain guard to keep C dry. This made it a Carter-incubator. After another 15-20 minutes, the result was the picture on the right(thanks to fellow roadie Matt in NC for C's helmet).
I think everyone enjoyed it, but my sweaty little guy was pretty wiped out, barely conscious enough for me to get his feedback before bed. Hopefully he enjoyed it as much as I did b/c I'm looking forward to many more miles ahead of us.
Thanks for reading...

Glad you finally got the bike trailer. Happy trails are ahead of you!
What's your recommendation for trailers? We're obviously just going to be cruising around the neighborhood...
Ben had the same problem with his bike and the Schwinn trailer. He bought some pipe to attach and made the rod longer. The kids love it and it's a sure way to get Sawyer to sleep, if he'd only stay that way!
Sweet sweet family! We just love watching that little fella grow up through your super blog! Can't wait to see you all soon-
joy
that is one cute sleeping kid! V has found the bike trailer enormously fun to play in as a "house" even when she is not riding behind Tres. And she won't have a thing to do with the bike seat T put on my bike last Mother's Day.
ahhh...the trailer attached to the single speed is a good workout!
