One of my proudest moments of parenting is watching the kiddos sleep. When C was little, I always felt a solid sense of accomplishment watching him - like we were doing something right at least.
Carter's sleeping has evolved with his growth. We transitioned Carter to a "big kid bed" months ago. He got the hang of it quickly and then started to really make it his own. He enjoys the freedom to roam about his room (still illuminated by the daylight at 7:30- curse you DST!!). He gets into toys, flash cards, animal friends and brings them to his bed to play with until so exhausted that he falls asleep amongst them.
It amazes me that the same kid who can't run around outside barefoot b/c his foot got dirty, can sleep on top of 3 Matchbox Cars, 2-3 hardback books, and several wooden blocks. Part of our nightly "Parenting Entertainment" is to check on what kind of sleeping situation Carter has created and do our best to remove any hazards before turning in.
I began taking nightly pictures for about 3-4 weeks. I've been sitting on this for a little while b/c this was pre-Owen, but again, we've been twice as busy these past two months.
Thanks for reading...

LOVE the video!
Great video!
Very cute! Sawyer likes strange things in his bed too. He also uses his bed as his bathroom. He now waits all day until he has on his diaper to poop in his bed at night. I have to go in and change him at 11:00 before I go to bed, just like a newborn! I dont' think this kid will ever potty train.
What a fabulous idea. Virginia never sleeps so this wouldn't work for us, but I love the concept and congratulate you on whavtever you've done to keep him in his big boy bed. :)
erin,
greatest video i've ever seen. hands down. my thoughts kept alternating between super creative mommy and "wow this little boy plays and sleeps hard"
enjoy those boys. owen will sleep soon.

Jennifer - it was all Bill's work - I can't take any credit except for helping take a few of the 128 pics. If you click on the film label at the end of the blog, you can see all of his past videos that he has done. The editing capabilities are part of why we bought a Mac before Carter was born.
Erin
