As Bill mentioned in his previous post, Carter is still in major like with Owen. He loves to touch, hug, high-five, copy/mimic and manhandle "baby Owen Phillips" as well as talk to, play with, and dance for him. We talk a lot about "soft" or "gentle" hands, the need to be very careful with the baby, and to not touch his face (lost cause), especially straight from school with germy hands prior to washing. You'll notice in the pics that the awake Owen usually looks a bit terrified.
We borrowed a swing to help protect Owen from C by keeping him off the floor; Owen happens to love it. Often, C will grab his rocking chair to "rock it out" while O rocks in the swing. Bill caught C trying to share his truck with a napping O (left pic), right in his soft spot.
Another day, I came around the den from the kitchen to find O swinging with a ball on his tray, with Carter far from the crime scene (until I grabbed the camera).
It is really very sweet to see Carter so enraptured with Owen. We have definitely tapped into this love as several of Carter's things (like the bumpo, bobby, some baby toys that C had NO interest in until Owen came on the scene) have been recycled for O. When Carter claims that there are his, we remind him that "sharing is caring". Occasionally this comes back around when we are trying to tell C that he CANNOT get in the swing since it is for babies and he is too big. We get a frustrated but "Sharing is Caring" right back at us in a not so caring growl/yell, which always makes me giggle on the inside.
Let's hope that this 7.5 week streak of mega love continues for the next 18 years. A mom can hope, right? Life is good these days, Erin

Oh this makes me laugh as it is very similar in our house! Toys are left on top of Landon on a daily basis ... and they are never the soft and plush kind. We also have a problem with giving kisses ... something that happens all day long. Lately they've turned from on top of the head (per our instructions) to a smothering face-to-face type kiss.
